...and give it what you got...
I was driving home this morning and Q-Tip came on the radio. (side note: I LOVE this new old school hip hop station I found!)
It got me thinking about our culture of always-on-the-go, our endless global competition to see who can be busiest. Who can get the MOST done. We're in a constant run to check off all the items on and endless to-do list and I, for one, am guilty of succumbing to the peer pressure. It causes such anxiety and overwhelm when I don't even know where to start because I feel like I'll never reach the end...and then I compromise sleep, and negotiate quality time with family or relaxation...sound familiar?
See, when we compare ourselves to others and allow ourselves to feel stressed out because we're not getting "enough" done, we always feel like we're on a hamster wheel. The truth is, we're enough. I'm enough. You're enough. Yes, we were given able minds and bodies, gifts and skill-sets to carry out our unique purpose. But without rest, reflection and recharging our batteries, we're no good at anything we put our energy towards. We're not made to be running on empty! 😴
So breathe. And stop. And THEN kick some ass ;)
