As the weather turns cooler and you're looking for something to warm you up from the inside (and you want to reach for whiskey) - boil up some water and make some tea instead! There are endless varieties of tea that you've probably never even heard of (and that go far beyond that boring lipton label) -- and not only does it taste amazing but it's good for you! Sometimes when you think you want a 'treat,' you're dehydrated...or you just want something to drink that has flavor and isn't filled with chemicals or calories. One of my two main go-tos for this scenario is tea (the other is seltzer, but that's another post). At night you want to go for an herbal (all natural, non-caffeinated) tea so that it doesn't keep you up, and try it without sweetener -- oftentimes the flavors of the teas are sweet enough! If you must add something, start with a squeeze of fresh lemon, and then try agave, stevia or honey - don't ruin it with sugar! (BONUS TIP: go for something with lavender or chamomile if you have trouble sleeping for an extra dose of soothing sleepy-ness). I LOVE teas that are made with fruit flavors - anything with berry or apple is RIGHT up my alley, and my seasonal favorites right now include pumpkin and cinnamon.
Check out Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice Roobios for a fall-time treat, if you can find any left on the shelf after I've been through there...

And PLEASE PLEASE check out my dear friend's local, organic, all-natural loose-leaf teas at Prasana Tea www.prasaneatea.com -- I personally am in LOVE with the overwhelmingly amazing berry sweetness of the blueberry hibiscus wave featured here:
