I know where I'm going because I know where I've been

So Facebook Throwbacks (not sure what they're ACTUALLY called, but we'll go with that title since It's most likely better than whatever they've called it), showed me THIS post from a year ago today.  Personally, I think that I REALLY have to take a look back at the beginning of my journey when I'm struggling with where I'm at to be able to recognize that the things I struggle with are HARD, but only because I grew enough to be able to have the strength to handle them -- and THAT is powerful.  So here's what I wrote a year ago:

Hi! So I wanted to share my progress so far. On the left is a girl a month into her fitness program, discouraged and ready to give up. The smile on my face is hiding a lot of fear and pain. On the right was me this past Monday. After years of failing at weight loss, yo-yo dieting, impossible to stick to workout plans and feeling like I'd never be successful in reaching my health and fitness goals, I FINALLY got there. Growing up, I was the girl picked last in gym class, always a klutz (still am lol), overweight, and I can still remember like yesterday being called thunder thighs even though it was 20 years ago. Until I committed to changing my life and found my coach and fit family, who supported me and made me BELIEVE I could do it. They wouldn't let me give up - and that's what gave me the courage and determination to keep going.
Is getting healthy and fit something you want but are afraid to try? I've been there. Let this be the time you succeed. Don't wait until January to start - if you start now you'll get a kickstart and be well on your way to getting healthy and fit BEFORE the holiday madness and pounds find their way to your midsection. The best defense is a great offense and I'm the coach that can help you! I offer support, motivation, accountability, inspiration and love. My coach didn't let me give up on me and I won't let you give up on yourself. Come join my challenge and finally reach YOUR GOALS! Like this post or message me at fb.com/jaimepiazza and we can find what works for you.
